Renewing Vehicle Registration

In the past, it took about 30 minutes for the RMS to receive notice of a greenslip successfully being processed for a vehicle that’s currently registered. For new registrations, a hard copy or printed copy of the greenslip needed to be presented to the RMS as proof of the CTP Greenslip purchase.

In 7 November 2015, changes were instituted to streamline the processing of greenslips and registrations. Details of the changes can be found here.

In a nutshell, greenslips are now instantly received by the RMS for both renewals and new registrations.

For clients renewing their regos, registration can be done in minutes. Simply visit www.myrta.com.au and key in the applicable billing number for the vehicle you wish to renew. Once logged in, you should see that your greenslip has been completed and if applicable, your pink slip, too. All you need to do then is follow the steps until the payment page. If you make your payment online, you should instantly be able to register your vehicle. Other payment options are available.
